Massachusetts Offers a ‘Cinderella License’ For Really Bad Drivers
A Massachusetts driver's license can be suspended or revoked for many reasons. The most common reasons for the Commonwealth taking away your driving privileges include traffic violations, operating under the influence, and certain criminal charges.
Refusing or failing a breathalyzer test can also result in the loss or suspension of your driving privileges.
Honestly, you've got to be a real "bad news bear" to lose your license in Massachusetts, but it does happen. When it does, some knuckleheads dig an even deeper hole for themselves by driving with a suspended or revoked license, which is illegal.
That can lead to additional penalties, including fines and even jail.
You can have your Massachusetts driver's license reinstated, but a fee is required, and you may be required to retake the test and apply for a learner's permit as though you were a 16-year-old.

Massachusetts also has what some refer to as a "Cinderella License."
What Is a "Cinderella" License?
The Massachusetts-based Law Office of Brian Simoneau, P.C. says, "In Massachusetts, a 'Cinderella License' is an informal term for a hardship license, typically granted to individuals whose driver's license has been suspended or revoked, often due to Operating Under the Influence (OUI) offenses."
"This restricted license allows eligible drivers to operate a vehicle for specific purposes, usually during designated hours, such as traveling to and from work, school, or medical appointments," according to the firm.
The designated hours are generally between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., but can be modified depending on individual circumstances.
If you recall, Cinderella had to be home before the clock struck midnight or all hell would break loose.
The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles includes information about applying for a hardship or "Cinderella License."
