MARION - Marion Police have arrested a man they say was involved in a shooting in the quiet town Monday.

Marion Police Chief Lincoln Miller says in a release that town officers responded to Mill Street just before 7 p.m. Monday for an apparent domestic violence call involving shots fired.

The female victim said she had been shot at while driving west along Route 6 in the area of Sparrow Lane.

Minutes later, police spotted the suspect in a black Ford Mustang headed east on Route 6. The suspect failed to stop for police and turned onto Spring Street and then onto Route 105 North.

As the driver was exiting onto I-195 West, he lost control of his car on the on-ramp and crashed into several trees.

The driver, who is not being identified at this time, was arrested without further incident.

A handgun was located in the vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation.
