Authorities say a Massachusetts man has been arrested and charged with murder in the stabbing death of another man in Brockton.

The Plymouth County district attorney and the Brockton mayor said in a news release that 50-year-old Joao DeAndrade was arrested and charged in the death of 49-year-old Jacinto Correia.

They say police responded to a 911 call Friday afternoon, arriving at an apartment where they found Correia with what looked like stab wounds to his thighs. He died later at a hospital.

Investigators say the two men spent much of the day together in the apartment. They say DeAndrade stabbed Correia at some point when they got into a disagreement.

DeAndrade is to be arraigned Monday in Brockton District Court.  (Associated Press)
