On Wednesday, Macy's announced that it will close 36 stores in the United States in early 2016. Two of these Macy’s stores are located in the western part of the state of Massachusetts.

According to WCVB 5, Macy’s expects to save approximately $400 million from cutting their costs.

The company also stated that it will adjust staffing levels at each Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s store in line with current sales and close a call center in St. Louis.

The two Macy’s stores that will be closing in Massachusetts include the one in the Berkshire Mall in Lanesborough, MA and the one in the Eastfield Mall in Springfield, MA.
