Many people have a drink on a Friday to mark the end of the work week.
But heavy drinking appears to be more of a problem in some lines of work more than others.

According to government data studied, miners and construction workers report drinking the most, with the mining industry coming in first and the construction industry not far behind for a close second! Hospitality and food services came in third. Workers in manufacturing, agriculture and the retail trade came in with more modest amounts of alcohol consumed. I know first hand, car salesmen are in a stress filled job that has a high number of drinkers. Radio talk show hosts and news reporters were not listed, luckily!

So, here are my questions: Is your job driving you to drink? And is it the stress of the job or is there just a culture of drinking in some careers? As you think about that, what are some of the jobs around here that lend themselves to heavier drinking more than others, like commercial fishing in the dangerous conditions of the open seas?
