Local Contractor Injured In Fall At Construction Site

A local contractor was seriously injured Friday morning at a home under construction on Shaw Road in Fairhaven.

Witnesses said the 65 year old contractor fell thru floor joists being installed, onto a cement cellar floor.

Paramedics found the man lying under some debris. He was unresponsive and suffering from a serious head injury.

The contractor was transported to the Shaw Rd. Little League field and taken by medflight helicopter to Boston Medical Center for treatment. Officials are not releasing the victim's name.

Police and OSHA are investigating.
