The Associated Press ran a story yesterday that caught my eye,

A Massachusetts baker is refusing to sell her sweets to customers who want to use their welfare benefit cards, the EBT cards.

Andrea Taber sells whoopie pies at a farmers market in Braintree, but she doesn't think the welfare recipients should be able to buy her goodies. Back in May, the farmer's market encouraged the vendors to join in a program allowing EBT cards to be used but Andrea disagrees.

She told the Boston Herald she doesn't mind welfare recipients using the cards to buy fruits and vegetables, but her sweets shouldn't be included in the program.

Organizers say they want welfare recipients to have access to healthy, fresh food.

Do you think the baker has stepped out of bounds here?
