The way this Ferris Wheel world has been turning lately, a lot of rakehell has been brewing all over.

We're getting conditioned to not expect something wonderful to happen to us, but when some stranger suddenly does you a random act of kindness, it's like an explosion of happiness shooting out of a geyser.

On the radio show recently, I was commenting that if pizza in New Bedford was also sold by the giant-sized slice, the business would be offering something different from all the rest of the shops – like in New York City, famous for their mammoth-sized slices of pizza.

Fast forward now this past Tuesday morning.

I was having a chat with renowned psychic Stephanie Burke about the planetary alignment of Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Uranus and Mars at sunset today. Burke said there were a lot of moving parts to the behavioral effect the lineup would create, much like the full moon does.

"It's a great day to try to bring in what you want in your life for the rest of the year," she said. "This event is more astronomical rather than astrological, but nonetheless, it's going to be an amazing and positive day."

As if scripted, the studio door then opened and a pizza box from Capri Pizza in Tarrytown, New York is placed in front of me while the interview was still going on. The person silently waved to me and then ducked out, just like that.

They say kind-hearted people are really good listeners. This attractive woman heard my pizza comment on the radio, and without saying a word, went through all the effort to bring by four extra-large slices of pizza from a shop 30 miles up the Hudson River from New York City.

Through the good nature of her heart, my listener reminded me that kindness is not what you do, but who you are.

The Best of South Shore Bar Pizza

There's pizza, and then there's South Shore Bar Pizza. Birthed in Brockton (and to this writer, perfected in Randolph – Lynwood Café is the true G.O.A.T.), it must meet certain qualifications to be considered "SSBP," which include: it's a 10-inch pie; it has a thin, cracker-like crust with minimal "flop;" the cheese is a blend that features more cheddar than mozzarella; and bonus points if you take it home between two carboard-type plates wrapped in flat brown paper bag. They also usually come with "laced" or "burnt" edges (terminology depends on where you are ordering), which is when the sauce and cheese are extended all the way to the edge of the pan, creating a crispy, flavorful coating to the crust. We reached out to the hugely popular South Shore Bar Pizza Social Club Facebook group to ask the experts to share the best of the best (in no particular order).
