The Greater New Bedford Workforce Investment Board has hired a new C-E-O..  The Chairman of the investment board, Peter Muise, announced that George Hempe will take over, effective June 23rd.

Hempe has 15 years experience managing workforce investment boards of Pennsylvania and California.  He also managed four full-service career centers in San Antonio, Texas.

Peter Muise says there was an extensive interview process, and the board feels comfortable that Hempe will be a capable leader for the organization.

Hempe is replacing Len Coriarty who stepped down in April after 19 years with the Greater New Bedford group.
