After all the speculation, all the controversy, the suspicion, the uncertainty, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has officially announced a decision regarding his status for the 2018 season.

He'll play.

Gronkowski took to his personal instagram account, just moments ago, to announce that he intends to play for the Patriots this season.

Gronkowski sparked near frenzied panic among Patriot Nation, following New England's crushing loss in Super Bowl LII, when he claimed he was uncertain about his playing future.

Since then report after report has consumed the New England region with speculation one way or another about whether or not the All-Pro offensive weapon would return.

In contrast to his recently aloof and over-the-top behavior, including an interesting exchange with the media at Gillette Stadium during a motocross event just days ago, Gronkowski kept his comments short and to the point, saying he had met with coach Bil Belichick and decided to play.

I met with coach today and informed him I will be back for the 2018 season with the Pats. I have been working out, staying in shape and feel great. Looking forward to another championship run.

The news now allows all of New England to take a collective sign of relief. Though he has battled a number of injuries throughout his career, Gronkowski stayed relatively healthy last year and left opposing defense's struggling to cover him week after week.
