The past few years have been a bit of a rollercoaster ride not only for our Food For Tots program, but also for the restaurants that generously support it.  That's why we are so happy to announce the official return of Food For Tots.

Jill Fearons, the Founder of the Friends of Jack Foundation, joined "Michael and Maddie" on WBSM's sister station Fun 107 this morning to announce this month's participating restaurants.

"We're doing it just a little differently this year," Fearons said.  "Instead of touring the different towns for each Food For Tots, there will be restaurants spread across the SouthCoast each month."

May's Food For Tots will happen Thursday, May 26.  The restaurants will be:

  • Mezza Luna in Buzzards Bay
  • The End Zone in New Bedford
  • Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Fairhaven
  • Uncle John's in Marion

If you want to support the Friends of Jack Foundation, all you have to do is eat and drink at any of these restaurants at any time on Thursday.  You don't need to show anything to the restaurant or say anything. Simply enjoy yourself, and by spending money at these restaurants you will be supporting the Friends of Jack.  It's the easiest way to support one of SouthCoast's favorite local charities.

Food For Tots has been responsible for raising hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past five years.  This money has been used for a lot of good, including paying the salaries of child life specialists at various SouthCoast hospitals and put stuffed animals in the hands of children who could really use a pick-me-up during a medical procedure or a police interaction.

See Everything to Explore at the Children's Museum of Greater Fall River

The former Bristol County Superior Courthouse on North Main Street in Fall River has transformed over the last decade into the home of the Children's Museum of Greater Fall River. From exhibits that local families know and love to those totally new features that have debuted in recent months, one thing is for sure: This museum is a must-see SouthCoast attraction and we have the pictures to prove it.
