Bomb Threat at Fall River Boys & Girls Club Turns Out to Be Hoax
FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Fall River Police say a reported bomb threat at the Boys & Girls Club on Tuesday turned out to be a hoax.
Fall River Police Respond to Bomb Threat Call
The department posted on its official Facebook page that at about 5:30 p.m. on February 10, officers responded to the Boys & Girls Club, located at 803 Bedford Street, for a reported bomb threat.
At around 6:17 p.m., a text alert was sent out to parents and guardians of children who use the Boys & Girls Club. WBSM was provided with a copy of that text alert, warning that the club had undergone an “emergency evacuation."
Children Evacuated to Nearby School
The club said that children who were brought to the General Drop-in Program were taken to the Mary Fonseca Elementary School cafeteria and needed to be picked up as soon as possible.
“We can assure you that we are swiftly and safely handling the situation,” the Boys & Girls Club wrote in the text.

K-9 Search Finds No Explosives
Police then searched the property with K-9s trained in explosives detection. They said no suspicious items were located, and the K-9s did not pick up on any potential detections.
