
Final Victim Identified in Fall River Gabriel House Fire
FALL RIVER (WBSM) — The final victim of the fatal fire that broke out at the Gabriel House Assisted Living Facility in Fall River just over a week ago has now been identified.
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced today that the remaining fatal victim from the July 13 fire that claimed 10 lives can be identified as Halina Lawler, 70. Her identity had not been publicly announced along with all nine of the other victims while the D.A.'s Office attempted to notify her next of kin.
Initially, nine victims perished in the fire, while a 10th person passed away days later from her injuries.

Victim Identities
The identities of seven of the first nine victims were released on Monday, July 14, the day after the fire.

They were identified as Rui Albernaz, 64; Ronald Codega, 61; Margaret Duddy, 69; Robert King, 78; Kim Mackin, 71; Richard Rochon, 78; and Eleanor Willett, 86.
An eighth victim was identified on Wednesday, July 16 as Joseph Wilansky, 77.

The 10th victim, Brenda Cropper, 66, was in critical condition following the fire after suffering burns over most of her body. She passed away from her injuries on Friday, July 18.

Investigation Status and Upcoming Press Conference
The fire remains under investigation. D.A. Quinn is expected to hold a press conference on Tuesday, July 22, at 2 p.m. to announce preliminary findings.
