BOSTON (WBSM) — A Fall River man with a long criminal history dating back 25 years has been charged in federal court with distributing crack cocaine.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Antonio Calderon, 43, was charged with four counts of distribution of 28 grams or more of a substance containing cocaine base. Calderon was arrested on Nov. 14 and was released on conditions following an initial appearance in federal court in Boston.

It is alleged that Calderon sold over 28 grams of crack cocaine in the Fall River area on four separate occasions this year: June 17, June 24, July 16 and September 18.

Calderon has been arraigned on 31 charges dating back to 2000 and has 13 convictions, including for trafficking cocaine, for which he was sentenced to 10 to 15 years in state prison.

Potential Sentencing and Penalties

If convicted, Calderon faces a sentence on each of the four counts of at least five years and up to 40 years in prison, at least four years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a fine of up to $5 million.
