Fake News Ignores Return of Korean War Heroes [OPINION]
The media has taken its anti-Trump lunacy to new lows by disrespecting Korean War veterans.
When what are believed to be the remains of 55 Korean War vets, missing in action since a cease-fire was declared 65 years ago, arrived in Hawaii last week, there was virtually no live coverage on the cable networks.
While Fox News covered the entire event live, including a speech by Vice President Mike Pence, CNN, according to Fox, provided only 58 seconds of coverage and MSNBC ignored the event entirely. Fox media analyst Howard Kurtz says ABC spent 24 seconds covering the event on its evening newscast, while NBC and CBS did not report on it at all.
An estimated 8,000 to 9,000 American servicemen are still unaccounted for in North Korea. No president in 65 years has even come close to winning the release of American remains from the "forgotten war."
Until Trump, that is.
No president has even bothered to sit down with a North Korean leader to discuss the matter.
Until Trump, that is.
Is the media that petty in its hatred for Trump that it would dismiss the significance of the repatriation of these fallen heroes? Why else would the media largely ignore such a momentous achievement? For surviving Korean War vets and their families, this is the firsts step towards closure after many decades of stalemate. It means something. But because Trump had a hand in it, the media ignored it? How sad is that?
The Fake News truly is the enemy of the people.
