Fairhaven Town Hall was closed Monday morning to employees and the public after an employee testing positive for COVID-19.

The employee was asymptomatic, and the positive result was revealed via testing, according to a media release from Erin Costa, media and communications specialist for the town.

Town Hall offices will be closed for a minimum of 24 hours to facilitate a deep-cleaning of all offices, Costa said. The building is expected to reopen on Wednesday, but the actual date will be confirmed on the town's website and social media.

For the time being, employees will work from home with access to email and voicemail. Contact information for employees can be found on the Town of Fairhaven website  at www.Fairhaven-MA.gov. Any business matters that require face-to-face interaction will have to wait until Town Hall repoens. The dropbox remains available to use at the entrance of Town Hall.
