FAIRHAVEN (WBSM) — The two people found deceased in a Fairhaven home on New Year’s Eve have now been identified, and a possible cause of death revealed.

Who Were the Deceased?

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III identified the two as Rafael Pedraza, 60, and Brenda Rosario, 51, both of Fairhaven.

Fairhaven Police and EMS were dispatched to 22 Jameson Street at about 7:03 p.m. on December 31 for a requested welfare check. Pedraza and Rosario were found unresponsive in a bedroom and pronounced deceased at the scene.

What Investigators Found Inside the Home

According to the D.A.’s Office, there were no signs of forced entry, and drug paraphernalia and suspected narcotics were found inside the home.

What Happens Next in the Investigation

The bodies of Pedraza and Rosario were transported to the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the official cause of death. The incident remains under investigation by Fairhaven Police and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the D.A.’s Office.
