Emergency personnel responded and freed the man, who sustained unspecified serious injuries and was transported by EMS to Tobey Hospital, where he was immediately medflighted to a Boston-area hospital for treatment.

The injured man, who will not be named at this time, is a 69-year-old Middleboro resident and employee of Soft Touch Car Wash. The driver is a 66-year-old Naples, Florida resident, who was operating a van and just exiting the car wash facility when the incident occurred.

Investigation of the incident is ongoing by the Wareham Police Department and OSHA, but all preliminary indications at this time show the driver of the van was unaware the incident occurred. He is not expected to be cited.
