After putting together a career performance in Sunday's 35-14 win over the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

On the day, Edelman led the team with eight receptions on 12 targets. He also posted multiple career-highs, including a career best 77-yard touchdown score and 151 total receiving yards.

By the end of the game, Edelman also set a career-high in receiving yards for a season, as he eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark for the second time in his career. His 1,106 yards eclipsed his previous best from 2013 by 50 yards.

Edelman now joins Patriot teammates Tom Brady, LeGarrette Blount, Dont'a Hightower, Stephen Gostkowski and Ryan Allen as the sixth New England player to take home a Player of the Week or Player of the Month honor.

The team has had POW or POM representative nine times this season.
