The eight-month-old Duxbury boy who was injured in the incident that took place Tuesday in which his two siblings were killed and his mother attempted suicide has died as a result of his injuries, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Callan Clancy died at 11:18 a.m. this morning at Boston Children’s Hospital, where he had been hospitalized since the January 24 incident at his home at 47 Summer Street.

Lindsay Clancy, 32, has been charged with the murders of two of her children: five-year-old Cora Clancy and three-year-old Dawson Clancy.

According to D.A. Tim Cruz, the children were strangled before their mother attempted suicide by jumping out of a window. Her husband arrived home to find her and called 911. First responders attended to her and discovered the children inside, unconscious with “obvious signs of trauma.”

Cora and Dawson Clancy were taken to a local hospital, where they were pronounced deceased. Callan Clancy was taken to Boston Children’s Hospital.

Lindsay Clancy was taken to a Boston hospital, where she remains in police custody. Cruz said that when she is able, she will be arraigned on two counts of murder, three counts each of strangulation and assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

Clancy is a labor and delivery nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital who was reportedly on leave. Cruz has declined to say if postpartum depression may have played a role in what happened.

It is expected Cruz’s office will now seek a third murder charge against her in Callan Clancy’s death.
