A consignment store that relocated downtown two years ago is closing its doors on Friday.

For a few weeks now, store closing signs have been posted on the glass windows of Modern Exchange at 185 Union Street in New Bedford.

According to South Coast Today.com, "mannequins were stripped, signs were off the wall and less than half the original number of racks of clothing waited for the final two days" on Wednesday.

Hallkeen Management owns the property and recruited the business two years ago, but it is not uncommon for small retail stores to come and go.
