A former administrator at Greater New Bedford Voc-Tech High School has filed a complaint against the school with the Mass. Commission Against Discrimination.

An attorney for Jimmy Owens filed the complaint Thursday at the New Bedford office of the M-C-A-D. It charges the school with discrimination and retaliation for dismissing Owens this week. Owens had worked at the school since 2004.

Attorney Christopher Lowrie says the school and school officials are named in the complaint. Superintendent James O'Brien declined to comment about the complaint.

Lowrie also said it was "outrageous" that Owens on Tuesday was escorted out of the school by a uniformed security officer. Lowrie said Owens was treated like a common criminal.
