Fall River Man Sentenced for Fentanyl Trafficking
FALL RIVER (WBSM) — A Fall River man has been sentenced to up to six years in state prison for trafficking in fentanyl.
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced today that Devonta Davis, 31, pleaded guilty on October 20 in Fall River Superior Court to trafficking in fentanyl over 36 grams. He was sentenced to serve four to six years in state prison.
Undercover Operation in Somerset
The charges date back to January 30, 2025, when an undercover Massachusetts State Trooper made arrangements to purchase 100 grams of fentanyl from Davis.

Davis arrived at a motel in Somerset at the arranged time for the buy, but when the trooper displayed his badge, Davis fled on foot and attempted to discard a large bag of white powder. He then fell and was apprehended about 10 to 15 feet away from the bag of white powder, which turned out to be 97.8 grams of fentanyl.
Bristol County DA Praises Investigation
"I am pleased that the efforts of the investigation lead to the arrest and conviction of the defendant for possessing a large amount of fentanyl with the intent to sell,” Quinn said.
