Davy’s Locker Closing

At one time, Davy's Locker in the South End was the place to go for seafood in New Bedford.  On Friday however, the East Rodney French Boulevard landmark closed its doors for good after almost 50 year's in operation.

Owner Jeffrey Dolinsky announced the closing in a full-page ad in the Standard Times...saying its been a great run for the greatest restaurant in the history of New Bedford.

Dolinsky sold the site to Greg and Margaret Kulpinski, the operators of Seafire Grill in the Candleworks building Downtown.  The sale price was not disclosed.

Greg Kulpinski tells WBSM News, the "Davy's" site will undergo extensive renovations over the next few months.  He plans to open an upscale sports bar there this spring, called "The Edge."
