Disabled Animals at Dartmouth Sanctuary Get Help from ‘Wizard of Paws’ Star Derrick Campana
A non-profit farm animal sanctuary in Dartmouth is getting a helping hand from a man who has pioneered the field of Veterinary Orthotics and Prosthetics.
Most known for his show called The Wizard of Paws, Derrick Campana is headed to Don’t Forget Us Pet Us to improve the quality of life for the special animals at the sanctuary.

What Is Don’t Forget Us Pet Us in Dartmouth?
Don’t Forget Us Pet Us is a volunteer-based animal sanctuary that rescues and provides a safe place to farmed and domestic animals that are sick, neglected, or discarded.
“We aim to inspire compassion for animals through education, adoption, and personal conenctions, in hopes of creating a kinder, more human community and world,” said the sanctuary.
Deborah Bell-Devlin is the overseer of the sanctuary and when she heard about a prosthetics expert that specializes in animals, she knew she had to reach out.
Who Is Derrick Campana?
Derrick Campana is the founder of Bionic Pets, a unique business that fabricates hand-crafted prosthetics and orthotics for animals of all sizes. The goal is to help animals regain their mobility with high-quality products that are custom-made to fit the animal’s exact needs.
While the company specializes in dogs, Bionic Pets has catered to other animals like horses, ducks, and even elephants.
Campana took his business one step further with his show called The Wizard of Paws, available on Disney+, BYUTV, Animal Planet, and Nat Geo, offering hope and healing for animals and their human families.

Derrick Campana Coming to Dartmouth
Bell-Devlin shared that last year, her sanctuary was being considered for Campana’s show. She didn’t hear back, but that didn’t stop her from reaching out to the expert so he could help her animals.
“We have one sheep named Kiki that can’t walk,” she said. “She has spinal curvatures and deformities, and getting something custom made will just be huge for her.”
There is also Krinkle who suffers from a neck deformity, causing her neck to always be titled and her shoulder to always be raised, which causes one leg to be shorter than the other.
With Campana’s help, these animals will have a better quality of life and truly thrive under the care of Bell-Devlin and her team of hard working volunteers.
“We are so excited to have him come out and help our animals,” she said. “We want to create awareness for what he does and the difference he can make.”
Thanks to experts like Campana, the animals of Don't Forget Us Pet Us will be able to live a life with mobility.
