The Dallas Cowboys are the most valuable sports franchise in the world. That's according to "Forbes Magazine," which has released its annual list of NFL franchise values.

With an estimated value of four-billion-dollars, the Cowboys are the NFL's top franchise for the ninth straight year and the world's most valuable sports franchise for the first time since 2007.

The Cowboys passed soccer franchise Real Madrid for that honor, with Real Madrid valued at 3.26-billion. The New England Patriots and New York Yankees are next at 3.2-billion.

After the Cowboys and Patriots, the Washington Redskins, New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers round out the top-five among NFL teams. Forbes estimates TV rights have boosted the average NFL franchise value to two-billion-dollars, up 38-percent from last year.
