Crews Battle Fire at New Bedford Housing Authority Complex
Crews late this morning responded to calls for a working fire at 152 Amanda Ave., an address at Duncan Dottin Place, a New Bedford Housing Authority complex.
A second alarm sounded at 11:44 a.m. with all hands working. Heavy fire was reported in the attic of a two-story unit, with all companies reportedly out of the building and a ladder pipe at work.
A federally-funded family property, Duncan Dottin Place is a 93-unit development located in the north end of the city. It was completed in November of 1992, according to the Housing Authority website.
