The Children's Advocacy Center of Bristol County says it needs more state funding to provide treatment and counseling support for sexually-abused children and their families.

Center officials and their supporters met with state lawmakers Friday in Fall River, making a case for additional funding.

Director Michelle Loranger tells WBSM News, she wants to expand partnerships with local schools, where instances of abuse are often divulged for the first time by victims.

Loranger says her agency's caseload has increased 59% since it first opened in 2007.
