Airbnb is expecting a huge demand for homes across the United States during the FIFA World Cup this summer and is offering incentives to entice some Massachusetts and Rhode Island residents, primarily in the Greater Boston and Providence areas, to list their properties.

Airbnb Offering Cash Incentives for New Hosts

"You could get an extra $750 USD reward for listing your home and hosting your first guests by July 31, 2026," according to Airbnb's website.

"That's on top of what you can earn hosting," Airbnb said.

World Cup matches will be held in 16 host cities nationwide, including Foxboro at Gillette Stadium, which will host matches from June 13 to July 9. In preparation, Airbnb is seeking home rental commitments across nearly 100 zip codes between Boston and Providence.

None of the zip codes listed by Airbnb are in Bristol County.

Certain terms apply to qualify for the host reward money, according to Airbnb.

Airbnb Expects Surge in World Cup Travelers

According to Boston.com, "More than 380,000 soccer fans are expected to use Airbnb for stays during the World Cup this summer, according to the online marketplace for vacation rentals, so the demand in host cities is surging."

"Searches for stays in the 16 host cities across North America, which include Boston, have increased by an average of 80 percent compared to the same period last year," reported Boston.com. "Boston hosts will be among the highest earning hosts with an average earnings of $5,200, second only to New York/New Jersey at $5,700."
