CARVER (WBSM) — The driver of a pickup truck was killed earlier today when his vehicle crashed into a tree in Carver.

According to authorities, the Carver Police, Fire and EMS departments responded at about 12:54 p.m. today for a reported motor vehicle crash with entrapment on Federal Road.

First responders arrived to find a pickup truck that had struck a tree and the driver was trapped inside the vehicle.

Firefighters were able to quickly free the driver from the vehicle, authorities said, and he was then transported by ambulance to Tobey Hospital in Wareham, where he was pronounced deceased.

The crash remains under investigation by the Carver Police Department, with assistance from State Police detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office, the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the Crime Scene Services Section.
