Late Tuesday night a train was derailed in Rosedale, Maryland. It quickly caught fire, and then exploded.

The explosion from the train shook houses at least a half a mile away from the site. According to the Washington Times, firefighters arrived on the scene and were able to contain the blaze shortly before midnight.

On Wednesday morning federal investigators arrived on scene, and have told the public not to worry. The chemicals that the CSX train was carrying that caused the explosion are no danger to them. That ruling came just a few short hours after the explosion, but authorities are still looking into what exactly caused the fire.
