As the NHL's Stanley Cup playoffs get underway, it's time to take a look at the Boston Bruins' first round playoff match up.

Entering the tournament as the two seed in the Atlantic bracket, behind the Eastern Conference's top overall seed, the Tampa Bay Lightning, Boston will square off against the third seeded Toronto Maple Leafs.

The best-of-seven series kicks off Thursday night at 7:00 PM, with the B's hosting the Leafs at the TD Garden.

Boston finished the regular season with 112 total points, going 50-20-12. Toronto came in seven points behind the B's, finishing the campaign with record of 49-26-7.

In four head-to-head match ups this season, the Maple Leafs won 3 games. The first battle went to over time with the Leafs winning 3-2. From there, the teams swapped 4-1 victories, before Toronto nipped the B's by a goal in late February.

The two teams have played in 14 previous playoff series, with the Leafs winning eight of those battles. This fifteenth postseason meeting will chronicle the first meeting of the two original six teams since the Bruins edged Toronto four game to three in the 2013 playoffs.

Every game of the series can be heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub. Three of the first four games will be available on NESN and NBCSN, including Thursday night's opener. Saturday's game three is slated for NBC.
