After a disappointing finish to the regular season this past weekend, that left the Bruins with their second straight year out of the playoffs, it seems head coach Claude Julien will not pay the ultimate price for Boston's under-performance.

Speaking at the team's end-of-season news conference, Boston general manager Don Sweeney threw his support behind Julien and confirmed the 55-year-old will be back on the Bruins' bench next season.

Coming down the stretch this season, there was widespread speculation that Julien's job security was in jeopardy. After missing the postseason for the past two years, people around the league believed a change in head coach could be Boston's big off season move.

Julien became the organization's all-time winningest coach this season and has led the B's to the Stanley Cup Finals twice in the past six years. Boston won the Cup in 2011, beating the Vancouver Canucks, and fell to the Chicago Blackhawks in six games back in 2013.
