The 21 year-old Bridgewater State student accused of raping two children at the university's day care is currently being held in jail.

According to WCVB.com, Kyle Patrick Loughlin, of Wrentham, took classes for early childhood education and worked at the university's Children's Center as a part of the program.

Parents became suspicious of abuse and notified the university, which lead to an investigation by police last week.

When police confronted Loughlin, he made a statement to officials and consented to a on-campus dorm room search. Police found over 100 pairs of children's underwear and diapers. They also searched his parents' home, where they removed his computer and other evidence.

The victims are two boys between the ages of 4 and 5 years-old.

The daycare cares for a maximum 30 children at one time, ranging from 2 years and 9 months to 6 years-old.

All parents at the daycare were notified of the arrest, and the university will hold meetings for parents with questions or concerns.

Loughlin is being charged with two counts of rape of a child and three counts of aggravated indecent assault, and assault and battery of a child under 14.
