Bridgewater State University officials say a student's claim that she was sexually assaulted on campus earlier this week was ``unfounded.''

Campus police on Wednesday announced that they would not bring any charges in the case, although the administration says it continues to investigate.

The freshman student reported that she was assaulted Monday night after agreeing to meet a man she had been chatting with on a social media phone app.

Campus police released a composite image of the man and a description.

Police increased patrols and students received an email notifying them of the assault, which included tips on how to stay safe. (Associated Press)
