Brandon Spikes Released By Patriots

Brandon Spikes is no longer a New England Patriot.

NECN is reporting that the team has confirmed that the linebacker was released from the team.

An official reason hasn't been provided for Spikes' release from the team.

Massachusetts State Police are investigating after a car registered to Spikes, identified as 2011 Mercedes Maybach, was found abandoned early Sunday morning on I-495 in Foxboro.

Investigators are also trying to determine if that vehicle was involved in another incident where a 2009 Nissan Murano was rear-ended injuring three people.

No charges have been filed at this time.
