Boston Man Identified as Dartmouth 195 Chase Suspect
DARTMOUTH — State police have identified the man caught in a pursuit involving K-9 units and a police helicopter yesterday in Dartmouth as 33-year-old Daryl Dickerson of East Boston.
Dickerson was allegedly driving a stolen Ford Escape registered in Providence, R.I. when he is accused of fleeing an initial traffic stop at around 4:15 a.m Thursday.
The chase ended with Dickerson's capture near I-195 in Dartmouth before 8 a.m. on Feb. 2.
State police had brought in an Air Wing helicopter and K-9 units to pursue the suspect after he allegedly fled on foot from the highway in Dartmouth.
The scene was quickly secured following Dickerson's arrest.
He is charged with driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest, assault and battery on a police officer, receiving a stolen vehicle (subsequent offense), and refusing to identify himself to police.
State police said he also had an active warrant for his arrest on previous charges at the time of his capture, although police did not say what the previous charges entail.
