The "Boston Herald" is endorsing New Jersey Governor Chris Christie for the Republican presidential nomination.

The newspaper's editorial staff calls Christie a "tested leader for troubled times" and stresses the need for real leadership at home and internationally. It points out that Christie knows about the war on terror from his time as a U.S. attorney.

The editorial also says he knows how to cooperate with Democrats, having had to get things done in a largely Democratic state.  (Metro Networks Inc.)
