It will take some big shoes to fill in for the great Gil Santos, but CBS has officially named his replacement for the upcoming NFL season as broadcaster Bob Socci.

Gil Santos announced that 2012 would be his final year as the Patriots play-by-play announcer, and would retire. CBS has wasted no time in an attempt to fill his shoes.

The announcement came down on Wednesday afternoon that former Naval Academy football announcer Bob Socci would be taking over for Santos. According to WBZ, Socci has almost 20 years of broadcast experience under his belt. He will be broadcasting on Boston's 98.5 The Sports Hub, the flagship station of the New England Patriots.
