NFL Coach Jon Gruden Set to Teach Class in Rhode Island
Hey Rhode Islanders, get ready for a potential visit from one of football’s biggest personalities. Former NFL coach Jon Gruden has announced that he’s finally making his way to Little Rhody.
The former Raiders and Buccaneers head coach says he will travel to Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, known for formerly housing the New England Patriots training camp.
This trip, however, will be more than just about football.
Jon Gruden Becomes a Guest Teacher at Bryant University
Gruden revealed that he’s going to be spending some time as a guest teacher for Bryant in one of the university’s classes. Bryant, known for its nationally recognized business program, sent Gruden a care package filled with Bulldog merch, which he proudly showed off in a recent video.
“You know, I was counting all the states that I’ve been to, and Rhode Island is the only state I haven’t been to!” Gruden said. “And I’m going to go up there now that I’ve got some friends up there at Bryant College.”
The coach recapped some the Bulldogs’ football season, noting that they’ve had a few tough losses since their big win over UMass earlier this year.

Christian Fauria Extends the Invite
Gruden’s upcoming appearance is thanks to former Patriots tight end Christian Fauria, who now teaches a sports marketing class at Bryant University. Fauria invited Gruden to join his class via Zoom for the guest lecture.
Gruden Fired Up for Rhode Island
In classic Gruden fashion, he couldn’t hide his enthusiasm. “I’m freaking fired up,” he said while unpacking his Bryant gear.
Known for his fiery personality and love for the game, Gruden’s visit (even if just virtually, for now) is sure to leave an impression on Bryant students.
