Here we go again. The New England Patriots are being accused of cheating. Again.

If you are a Patriots fan, your first inclination is to roll your eyes at the obvious jealousy other teams have for the New England franchise. Rightfully so. Normally, after winning a Super Bowl, teams fade away and rebuild.

We all know the Patriots defied those odds by extending their dynasty over the better part of 20 years. Some teams just can't hide their unbridled jealousy and need to come up with ridiculous reasons the Patriots have won over the years. See "Spygate" and "Deflategate" for reference.

Falcons Blame Patriots For Early Snap

Now that the Drake Maye version of the Patriots are really starting to heat up and make some noise, the Falcons are crying salty tears. Instead of blaming their iced kicker, who missed an extra point that likely would have sent the game into overtime, Atlanta's head coach Raheem Morris claims the Patriots simulated Michael Penix’s claps, which caused an early snap that led to an intentional grounding call.

“They were clapping," Morris said. "They simulated our snap. Got us to snap the ball and that’s why the ball was snapped early.”

The early snap caused chaos and did have a meaningful impact on the game. When Penix received the unexpected snap, he had to quickly get rid of the ball and was called for intentional grounding.

Video Review Shows No Clapping

If the Falcons could wipe away their tears for just a minute, they’d be able to actually review the play. I've watched and rewatched the snap from multiple angles. No Patriots players moved their hands in any kind of clapping motion. To claim otherwise is to live in the neighborhood of make-believe. That's a world where no one knows the significance of 3-28.

Head coach Mike Vrabel all but laughed off the insinuation that the Patriots were involved in shady on-field behavior.

“Clapgate,” Vrabel joked.
