The staff at the admissions office at Bishop Stang must have been high-fiving each other over the weekend when news first broke that one of their transfer students had just won the honor of Miss Massachusetts in the Miss Teen USA Pageant.

Which SouthCoast Schools Has Elmire Arsenault Attended?

Elmire Arsenault grew up in Fairhaven, so she has many friends at her new school, Bishop Stang.

"I have a lot of friends there, so it's not going to be that new for me, but I'm really excited," she said. "For elementary school, I actually went to very small private schools. I went to Dartmouth Early Learning Center from first grade to third, fourth grade. From fifth grade to eighth grade, I attended Friends Academy. I went to St. Andrew's in Barrington, Rhode Island for the past two years and I'm now transferring into Bishop Stang for my junior year. I'm so excited."

What Has Elmire Arsenault Learned in the Miss Teen USA Pageant?

"I've learned a lot of public speaking skills," she said. "I've learned genuine manners, and I've also learned how to connect with people through different audiences. Whether that's a more professional manner, or if it's just sitting on the floor and reading to kids in kindergarten, I really love the diversity that you can use and the connectability that you have through this title."

Does Elmire Eat Super Healthy During Competition Season?

"I literally will eat anything, anytime, anywhere," she said. "I think for the Miss USA Pageant, it's more about your physical appearance, but in the teen division it's about having fun and being able to be relatable, and being able to eat and do things you want to do and have fun."
