Biles Makes History to Round Out USA Women’s Gymnastics In Rio
Simone Biles made history on Tuesday, in the USA Women's Gymnastics team's final event of the Rio Olympics.
After already securing gold medals in the team all-around, the individual all-around and the individual vault, and adding a bronze on the individual balance beam, Biles captured another gold medal finish in the individual floor exercise with an impressive score of 15.966.
In the floor exercise, Biles defeated her teammate and defending Olympic gold medalist on the floor Aly Raisman, who finished in second place with the silver.
If not for a minor slip on the balance beam, Monday, there is a real possibility that Biles would have swept all of her events and finished with five golds.
Still, four is nothing to be sad about. After all the hype leading into these games, about how dominant Biles is and how she was already being considered the greatest gymnast of all-time, she definitely backed it up with a near flawless week in Rio.
