Belgium's prime minister is calling today's explosions at the airport in Brussels and a major metro station an act of "terror."

Charles Michel  says, quote "What we feared has happened, we were hit by blind attacks."

While calling it a dark day for the country, the prime minister also called for calm and solidarity.

He says the situation is still evolving and was not able to confirm an exact death toll.

Media reports say about two dozen are dead and scores more hurt.

Today's bloodshed comes just days after authorities in Brussels arrested a Belgian-born suspect in November's deadly terrorist attacks in Paris.
