Barrett's Waterfront in Fall River is not open just yet, but we were thrilled to be invited last night to give the restaurant a try.

Management at the brand new Barrett's Waterfront in Fall River asked us to dinner last night to give the waitstaff and kitchen a chance to work out any glitches that might exist before their official grand opening.

Always willing to help out when it comes to eating free food, my family and I jumped into action.  We were blown away by how gorgeous the restaurant was last night.  The lighting was a perfect compliment to the setting sun inside the dining room and the picturesque scenes of the Taunton River were breathtaking.  The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly.  Two of the biggest TV's I've ever seen in person took up the wall space above their spacious bar area.  A larger than life original painting by local artist Brian Fox remains as a tasteful nod to Jerry Remy, as this new Barrett's sits on the former location of Jerry Remy's Bar and Grill.  The painting is reportedly worth upwards of $85,000.

Most importantly, our food was delicious.  Everyone in my family thoroughly enjoyed their meal (a rare feat when we bring along my two kids).

Expect Barrett's Waterfront to open to the public sometime in May.

See the walkthrough video below to get a real feel for what to expect at the new Barrett's Waterfront.  My prediction is that this could be the new hangout spot when you don't feel like driving to Newport.
