The American Legion wants Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki to resign.

American Legion national commander Daniel Dellinger said Shinseki must step down because of serious questions about patient care at VA health clinics in Arizona and Colorado. Dozens of veterans may have died while waiting for appointments to be set at the VA clinic in Phoenix.

Dellenger said Shinseki's tenure has been plagued by bureaucratic incompetence.

After more than a decade of war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the VA has struggled to deal with a massive backlog of cases. Shinseki is a retired Army general.
