A Fall River woman is facing drug trafficking charges.

Forty-three-year-old Heather Gilchrist-Dawson was arrested last Thursday after detectives received a tip that she was arriving in Providence on a bus from Arizona carrying a bag containing illegal narcotics.

Detectives obtained a search warrant and watched the suspect get off the bus with a duffel bag and backpack and call for an Uber ride. Police then followed the ride on Interstate 195 into Massachusetts where the vehicle was stopped by a Seekonk police cruiser.

Police used a drug-sniffing dog to find more than 350 grams of methamphetamine in the bags.

Gilchrist-Dawson was charged with trafficking of a class b substance over 200 grams.
