Acushnet Man Arrested for OUI in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police arrest an Acushnet man on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Wednesday night around 9 p.m., police responded to an accident in the area of Coggeshall Street and Ashley Boulevard.

One of the vehicles was observed traveling at a high rate of speed. Upon further investigation, police determined that the driver of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol.

Police arrested 21-year-old Mario Suy of 19 Kendrick Street, Acushnet, on charges of OUI liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

The arrest took place at 9:17 p.m.
