A Woman Falls Into The Harbor

An unidentified 52 year old woman from Maine fell into the water at Leonard's Wharf in New Bedford Thursday night. According to Detective Capt. Steve Vicente, the woman was visiting her husband on the fishing vessel "Bulldog" and as they were leaving the boat to go out to dinner, the woman lost her balance as she climbed from the boat to the pier and struck the pier with her body before falling into the water. Security Officer Larry Branco and her husband helped the woman out of the water and she was taken to St. Luke's Hospital for treatment of a hip injury and hypothermia.
