Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-California) wants to confiscate guns and has threatened to use nuclear weapons against those who refuse to surrender them. This guy is insane just to joke about such a thing.

Swalwell, a frequent cable news critic of everything Trump, wrote an op-ed piece for USA Today proposing the confiscation of “military-style semiautomatic assault weapons” using some $15 billion in taxpayer funds to do it. When combat vet Joe Biggs tweeted in response that any such attempt would result in a war. Swalwell suggested that Biggs and others who resist could pay a heavy price:

Swalwell, who serves as co-chair of the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, also serves on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. He is believed to be considering a run for the Democrat nomination for President in 2020.

The thought of the government confiscating weapons of any sort from the public, which until now has been protected by the Second Amendment, sends shivers up the spines of all law-abiding gun owners.

Believe me, Swalwell is not alone in his thinking. As the 2020 nomination battle draws nearer, talk of the forced confiscation of guns of all types will become more common.

Candace Owen is correct, the second American Civil War has begun.
